Model Overview
Ford's E-Series full-size van models, otherwise referred to with the name Econoline, can be equipped in a wide range of configurations for both cargo and passenger duty for 2007. Passenger versions come in two primary models--the standard-duty E-150, and the Super Duty E-350, which offers increased towing and hauling ability. The E-150 comes in a single length, while the E-350 comes in standard and extended versions. The extended version is about 20 inches longer.

A 225-horsepower, 4.6L V8 is standard on the E-150, but all Super Duty E-350s come with a standard 255-horsepower, 5.4L V8. The 5.4L is optional on the E-150; exclusive to the E-350 is the optional 6.0L Power Stroke turbo-diesel, which is best for towing and makes 235 horsepower and 440 lb-ft of torque. Also standard on the E-350 is AdvanceTrac with roll stability control, an electronic stability aid aimed at preventing the loss of control that could lead to a rollover. Four-wheel anti-lock brakes are standard on all passenger-duty Econolines.

XL models come with air conditioning, a basic AM/FM radio, tilt steering, and a seating arrangement with front bucket seats and two three-passenger bench seats in back. XLTs step up to a six-speaker CD sound system, dual captain's chairs in front, power windows, mirrors, and locks, plus cruise control. The more luxurious Chateau includes a two-tone paint scheme, aluminum wheels, four cloth captain's chairs, an overhead console, and keyless entry. The E-350 extended models have several additional seating configurations that can accommodate up to 15 people.

There are a variety of packages available on the Econoline that help equip it for specialized uses. For instance, a Masterack system helps secure tools and parts into smaller storage bins. Other notable options include a reverse-sensing system and auxiliary rear air conditioning.

The E-150 can tow up to 7,500 pounds and the E-350 can tow up to 10,000 pounds, when equipped with the optional Trailer Tow package.

Model Changes
The full-size Ford Econoline vans get a number of minor equipment upgrades for 2007. An oil cooler is now standard on all models, and E-150 models get a larger rear stabilizer bar and larger-diameter aluminum driveshaft to increase load capacity.

On E-350 Wagons with the 5.4L V8, roll stability control is now standard. A reverse sensing system is now available on Van and Wagon models, and a more powerful alternator is optional on 5.4L and 6.8L models.

Three new colors join the palette: Forest Green, Pueblo Gold, and Dark Blue Pearl.
