The 2019 Ford Edge is offered in four trim levels; SE, SEL, Titanium and ST. The SE, SEL and Titanium are all powered by a 2.4L EcoBoost turbo 4-cylinder engine making 250 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. The ST trim brings more performance to the Edge with a 2.7L twin-turbo V6 EcoBoost engine, making 335 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque. All engines are paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Front wheel drive is standard in the SE, SEL and Titanium with all-wheel drive optional. The ST comes standard with all-wheel drive. The 2019 Ford Edge receives a handful of updates for the 2019 model year. The exterior receives minor changes to the front and rear fascia and the standard 2.0L EcoBoost gains an additional 5 horsepower for 2019. Additionally, the 6-speed transmission is replaced by a new 8-speed automatic transmission. The Edge now comes standard with Ford's Co-Pilot 360, which is a suite of safety and driver assistance features. A new ST trim is offered in place of the prior year Sport model, powered by a 335-horsepower twin-turbo V6 engine.
The 2019 Ford Edge is a well-designed midsize crossover SUV, with a long list of standard options, and performance to rival its competition. The Edge is best compared to the Nissan Murano, the Kia Sorento and the Chevrolet Equinox, but Ford offers a more powerful set of powertrain options, as well as competitive fuel economy. Passenger volume, rear legroom and cargo capacity in the Edge are among the best in the category.
