Base and Turbo R-Spec models come with a 6-speed manual, while 6-speed automatic is available on the former and standard on Premium trim models. Turbo and Turbo Ultimate models come with 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmissions.

The 2019 Hyundai Veloster moves into its first new generation since its introduction. Most everything has been updated and revised providing an aggressive twist on exterior styling. The waterfall front grille is larger and bolder, the headlights are sleeker and better accent the re-worked front fascia. LED running lights are now standard as well as a larger rear diffuser and raked rear roofline to add a more pronounced shape to the back end of the vehicle. The interior is updated around trim-specific color and material schemes and includes an optional 8-inch touchscreen-based infotainment system. A multi-link independent rear suspension replaces the outgoing model's torsion beam setup, promoting sporty and responsive handling.
The Veloster lands somewhere between compacts and hot hatches such as the Mazda3 and the larger Volkswagen Golf, MINI Cooper and Volkswagen Beetle. The Veloster stands out by offering cavernous interior space for both cargo and passengers. Efficiency too, will attract buyers, particularly with the sprightly 1.6L turbo, which manages sub-6 second 0-60 mph acceleration times as well as excellent fuel economy, achieving over 30 mpg on the highway in Turbo trim.
